Staging Project

For this project the clients wanted to sell their home in a real-estate market that was slow-moving at the time. Working primarily with the home-owner’s existing furnishings and a very limited budget for paint and a few accessories, the home quickly sold once it was staged and transformed into an appealing, welcoming space to buyers.

Before & After

The focus of this project was on the main floor of the home to accommodate the limited budget.

Efforts were concentrated on harmonizing the rooms and showing buyers the home’s full potential by creating inviting spaces and improving the flow throughout the home.

A fresh and funky shabby chic aesthetic was selected as the unifying theme, created by rearranging the clients existing furniture, decor and artwork, and combining them with updated accessories, including cushions, throws and statement plants. Some furniture was transformed with paint and an inexpensive new window seat was made.

To improve the flow in the living room, the furniture was angled to create a smoother transition from room to room. For each room a considerable amount of editing and re-organizing was done to open up each space and create a sense of cohesion.

The library was a fairly blank slate to start, yet it had a lot of potential for buyers. To demonstrate how this space could be used in different ways, it was staged as a multi-purpose office, play area and reading-room.

The dining room was a key transitional space between the living room and the library so the decor had to seamlessly flow between these rooms. In this room the shabby chic, farmhouse look was achieved with an updated lighting fixture and treasures pulled together from throughout the house. The bowl of lemons was the perfect final touch to pull it all together and freshen the space.
