My Story

I grew up in Ottawa, Ontario and even at a young age I knew I wanted to be in a creative field. I was surrounded by family members in the trades and creative arts, with exceptional skills.  This gave me a deep appreciation for the arts and architecture.

For many years I wanted to work in the fashion industry and hence decided to move to Toronto to complete the 'Fashion Business Management' program at Seneca College. Over the past 15+ years I have worked in multiple retail establishments, absorbing loads of knowledge from each location. I always desired to take on more responsibility and with time I became the 'go to individual' at one of the top footwear stores in the city, Glebe Trotters. I wore many hats working there; From selling, managing and merchandising to running the day to day operations of the store and being one of the lead buyers, I was given many responsibilities and gained so much knowledge in the process.

I also had the privilege of opening the Nordstrom Ottawa location as the lead assistant manager for the luxury and women's shoe department. Opening this location was a huge challenge as there were many moving parts, in addition to leading a large team of 50 individuals. One of the main skills I learned in this position was the importance of effective communication as this is an incredibly important skill when building a team.

Over the years I have been trained in exemplary customer service and sales as I was a top performer for multiple years in a row with strong product knowledge. Ultimately, after years of accomplishing similar day to day responsibilities I desired more growth and wanted to pursue a career while remaining in a hands-on, creative environment. This was when I was introduced to the interior design world.

Over 6 years ago I moved into an interior designer's home that really inspired me. With a limited budget,

I decided to use my creative knowledge by creating a unique space that felt like a home instead of an average rental. I began getting requests from individuals to decorate and stage homes. This sparked my interest to return to school for interior decorating while working full time.

Within the past 5 years I have learned so much about design through my program, designers and many other resources. I have also absorbed an incredible amount of knowledge from family members and friends who are in the field of decor and construction; from refurbishing furniture for clients and colour consulting to decorating and designing, I am always working to build my knowledge as this is industry is constantly evolving.

As for my style, I am all about bringing clients spaces to life. I enjoy incorporating the old with the new in creating a unique space that feels like home. I am great at solving challenges, thinking outside the box and bringing ideas to life. I love creating spaces that not only look good, but spaces that make you feel-good in. Spaces that tell a story and reflect the individual inside is how I love to view it.
